SunKid partners with Figures + More to implement a comprehensive plan for the Saalbach SNOW ACADEMY ski school.
At the SNOW ACADEMY, success arrives on the "fast track!
Saalbach (Salzburg/Austria): In the mid-90's, the ambitious hotelier from Saalbach, Jakob Eder, took over the Fritzenwallner Ski School. With full focus and commitment, he used the subsequent years to achieve his vision of a modern ski school. Thanks to a permanent investment in infrastructure, the ski school's "Spacy Snow Planet" area, in the middle of the village, has reached an impressive size of 5000 square meters.
Jakob Eder recognized early on that bringing children into the world of ski sports requires innovative approaches. He continuously added to the investment in training for ski instructors and the infrastructure of the ski school. The facility was extended by incorporating the neighboring property, and now boasts the dimensions of a small football field. The overall project concept for "Spacy Snow Planet" was developed by following a clear strategy and plan, in multiple stages, and implemented consistently according to the goals.
SunKid & Figures + More as experienced partners in the design and implementation
And throughout implementation of the project, the learning aids from SunKid were there to add to the quality of the facility – now over ten years in the works. Most important of all were the four SunKid Wonder Carpets with gallery enclosure. Thanks to the fast, comfortable, and safe approach to lift conveyance, the little ones spend practically all their time on the slopes. In addition, the enclosure over the conveyor lift means that the ski school can start operations without delay even with new-fallen snow. Also, this construction protects the little ones from wind and cold.
The two ROTONDO carousels installed by SunKid also contribute a great deal to the facilities. They help little ones find a sense of balance in the snow. The children hold on to a rope and enjoy the ride while being towed in a circle. During breaks at the ski school, the ROTONDO carousel becomes the "chill-out" zone. All it takes is a couple of SunKid tubes attached to the carousel arms and the children can have a great time while relaxing between instruction sessions.
In order to keep course instruction equally varied and fun, ski instructors at the SNOW ACADEMY rely on cutting edge teaching aids from SunKid's SUNNY STUFF product line. Using ropes, tubes, bands, and much more, it's easy to keep kids entertained and focused – and the class flies by before anyone knows it. Additional SUNNY STUFF products increase the attractiveness of the ski school facilities, including tunnels, foam arches, buoys, rods, and colorful figures and child-friendly, attractive fence structures suitable for advertisements.
Customized production of fiberglass figures for customers' specific needs
These colorful figures are manufactured by hand from fiberglass and plastic by Figures + More, a close partner of SunKid, and are absolutely weather- and UV-proof. The figures are available in everything from animals to snowmen, and new figures can be made upon request.
"There are really no limits to what the customer can request" promises Figures + More CEO Dr. Ruud Lether. A good example of this flexibility is the way SPACY – the mascot of the SNOW ACADEMY – was developed as the focal figure for the science fiction theme, and implemented in many different variations: as an over-sized figure, as a living, costumed performer for the Spacy Interactive Show, and as part of advertising fences and gateway arches.
Special requests from customers can be implemented using the exact ideas of the customer, just like the SunKid Wonder Carpet enclosure customized with fiberglass construction. One of the SunKid gallery enclosures in the SNOW ACADEMY is designed as a giant worm. The giant figure attracts all eyes in the facility just by its size alone, and enhances the desired image of the area as an 'outdoor kindergarten'.
Competent instructors, modern teaching methods, Wonder Carpets and figures, gateway arches, and modern teaching aids aren't necessarily a guarantee for the success of a ski school. What's most important is having the right concept, along with consistent implementation of a strategy and cooperation with experienced partners to ensure success in the long term. The SNOW ACADEMY, under the direction of Jakob Eder, chose this course deliberately, and since then has enjoyed success 'on the fast track'.
