St. Anton am Arlberg – the cradle of skiing! The fact that the art of traveling down snowy hills on two narrow boards began here still places a great responsibility on the operators of the cable railway and the on-site ski school. For this reason, a great deal of emphasis was placed on the beginning of modern skiing in the children’s and beginners’ area. In order to meet the constantly growing demands, the fourth children’s and beginners’ area was constructed near the Nasserein cable railway in cooperation with SunKid. The new site was warmly received, which made it necessary to expand it for the previous winter season.
Proximity pays off!
The ski school in St. Anton a. A., under the direction of Richard Walter, is the largest ski school in Austria with more than 400 native and internationally certified ski instructors. To ensure the best possible introduction to winter sports, a total of four separate areas were built for children and beginners. This guarantees that it is easy for all guests to reach the ski school. In addition to the area at the central ski school, a beginners’ area in the center of St. Anton a. A., and a Children’s Park in St. Christoph, there is also a children’s area on the outskirts of Nasserrein. This flagship of the Arlberg ski school was expanded this winter with a new Wonder Carpet. The ski school in St. Anton a. A. now has a total of 12 SunKid ascending aids for the children’s, beginners’, and logistics area.
2 in 1! The multifunctional Wonder Carpet
The Children’s Park in Nasserein on the outskirts of St. Anton a. A. relied on three SunKid Wonder Carpet conveyor belts in previous years. But expansion became necessary due to the great popularity of the new Children’s Park. The cable railway and the ski school decided on a new SunKid Wonder Carpet for the lower area, which performs two tasks at the same time!

On one hand, the new Wonder Carpet with a length of 69m makes the Children’s Park more easily accessible and therefore serves as a logistics solution. On the other, a new children’s and beginners’ piste was created in addition to the Wonder Carpet, for which the new Wonder Carpet serves as an ascending aid. The SunKid Wonder Carpet is the ideal solution for logistics solutions in the ski areas and as an ascending aid for practice slopes. Simple transport over short as well as long stretches is thus greatly simplified for winter sports enthusiasts and pedestrians. Spectators like grandparents especially profit from this solution and can easily and quickly see their loved ones on skis!

SunKid gallery
The new Wonder Carpet was constructed with the SunKid gallery enclosure, which guarantees low maintenance and simple commissioning for the operator. The gallery enclosure is especially popular with guests, as it protects them from wind, rain, snow, and cold. The modern design of the SunKid gallery makes it an optical highlight of any ski area. The side doors with 1.8 m spacing are anchored by means of rubber straps. Fast opening is guaranteed by the self-winding, truck-quality PVC-tarps. In practical use, this method of installation has proven itself admirably for more than 7 years and SunKid has now installed approximately 7,000 meters of SunKid galleries.

Sunny Stuff
Products from the Sunny Stuff assortment ensure the appropriate design for the Children’s Park. Foam figures or numerous ski school aids provide fun for the children and an enhanced learning effect! This rounds out the program for children and beginners in Nasserein. With the support of SunKid, the cable railway and the ski school on the Arlberg were able to expand the existing program and are already looking forward to the coming winter!
