Breathtaking SunKid Wonder Carpet project in Asia!

The ski resort in Sungwoo (South Korea) completed an extraordinary and breathtaking project. Along with new slopes for beginning skiers and sledders, two tubing runs were constructed by SunKid's partner Meingast/Neveplast, at 450m and 170m in length and suitable for year-round use. To make the ascent for skiers, sledders, and tubers easier, SunKid installed three Wonder Carpets in Sungwoo with a total length of 564m!

The Hyundai ski resort in Sungwoo offers its guests the best-equipped accommodations and a variety of leisure activities for both summer and winter. During the cold season, snow-lovers are treated to ideal conditions on the slopes and modern ski lifts, while summer visitors can relax on the golf course or in the pool. And from this season on, guests in Sungwoo also benefit from a new year-round attraction – tubing! SunKid's partner Meingast/Neveplast constructed two new tubing runs, at 450m and 170m each. The highlights of the run are the numerous tight curves, which add a special thrill to the descent.

Wider conveyors mean more comfort

To make sure that tubers, skiers, and sledders get the right lifts, the project turned to SunKid for the installation of three Wonder Carpet conveyors. In the lower section where the ascent follows an 18% grade, two SunKid conveyors run side-by-side with a length of 201m each, and are each driven by a 22KW drive motor. In the upper section with a 20% grade, one 162m SunKid Wonder Carpet was installed with an 18.5KW motor. Along with the handrail on the side, a special feature of this project is the width of the conveyor. The 900mm wide conveyor allows for more comfort for skiers, sledders, tubers, and especially pedestrians. Owing to a substructure framework, SunKid is the only manufacturer which can offer widths of 500mm, 600mm, 750mm, 900mm, and 1,200mm in the SunKid Wonder Carpet line.
