Eleven in One – SunKid Realises Major Project in South Korea

The Kangwonland Ski Resort in northern South Korea is now home to eleven new SunKid conveyors measuring a total of 516 metres in length. The new facilities mean that guests to the resort can now look forward to being transported quickly and safely back up to the top of the mountain.

This Far East project provided the whole of the SunKid team with a real logistical challenge. The installation of eleven Wonder Carpets represented the single largest job ever taken on by SunKid since the company’s creation in 1996. However, as a result of excellent cooperation with SunKid’s local distribution partner, the Doppelmayr company Shin Chang International, the project was able to be completed without any major difficulties. The installation of the facilities was carried out directly by our partners in South Korea who will also be responsible for all necessary maintenance work.

With the realisation of this major project in South Korea, SunKid set new standards for winter sport transport in Asia. Indeed, the company has a long history of successful cooperation with Asian partners: a total of 160 SunKid Wonder Carpets have been exported to Japan, China, Singapore or Korea since SunKid’s creation ten years ago, of which more than 50 over the course of the past two years alone.

Further major projects in Asia have already been confirmed for the coming year, including yet another major installation in South Korea: three Wonder Carpets measuring between 160 m and 200 m are to be installed in the Hyundai Sungwoo Resort. Thanks to projects of this kind, SunKid can, in close cooperation with its partners, continue to develop and increase its competitive advantage on the Asian market.
