Milestones

• 1996 – Following a workshop of leading Tyrol ski lift companies and ski schools, it becomes clear that a revolution in ski instruction is necessary. This is the critical impetus for the birth of SunKid and the eventual development of the conveyor belt lift concept - a system installed without foundation directly in the snow to transport passengers uphill.
• 1999 - Merger with lift company Bruckschlögl Ges.m.b.H., subsequently responsible for the production and technical development of the SunKid Wonder Carpet.
• 2001 – SunKid develops the revolutionary “Blue Eye” endless conveyor belt surface. Production on its specially built machines at its Bruckschlögl-Bad Goisern factory.
• 2001 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to install a conveyor belt at a golf course.
• 2001 - Expansion of the world-wide supply and delivery network, and founding of the subsidiary company for the North America market: Star Lifts Inc.
• 2002 –SunKid is the first manufacturer to develop a roof for conveyor belts – the SunKid Gallery.
• 2002 - BORER Lift AG becomes a full partner company and assumes responsibility for the Swiss market.
• 2003 – SunKid develops the first conveyor belt with a conveyor width of 1200 mm.
• 2004 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to supply a remote radio control for conveyor belts
• 2004 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to install an error-diagnosis system for conveyor belts.
• 2004 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to supply an access control for conveyor belts.
• 2005 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to develop the new “SunKid Radius Side Exit” unloading philosophy - PATENTED.
• 2005 – SunKid is the first manufacturer to think about the summer storage of conveyor belts. The company develops the “Type G – Summer Cover”.
• 2006 – SunKid is the first manufacturer of a SMS warning and control system.
• 2007 – SunKid installs as first manufacturer a 132m carpet over ground on towers with 8m height.
• 2007 - Successful development and expansion of the network of retailers brings SunKid an effective cooperation with over 40 supply and service partners worldwide.
• 2008 – SunKid installs as first manufacturer a carpet with a total length of 400m and speed of 1,2 m/sec.
• 2008 – SunKid produces as first manufacturer its carpets  according the draft of EN15700.
• 2009 – SunKid develops as first manufacturer an exchangeable Polyethylene abrasion coat, which has been designed especially for the summer usage of carpets – SunKid Super Slide.
• 2009 – SunKid develops a hydraulic hoisting device for an 84-meter long Wonder Carpet, allowing adjustments to changing snow depth up to 3.4 meters throughout the winter season.
• 2009 – To strengthen SunKid's position in the French market, subsidiary SunKid France S.A.R.L. is founded.
• 2009 – Entrance into the fun and leisure market with the acquisition of long-established company Heege Freizeittechnik
